Individual Counseling focuses on the needs of the client. Every individual goes thru a period in their life where the support and guidance of a professional may be needed. We offer support for Anxiety, Behavior Management, Anger Management, Depression, Trauma, Loss, Divorce, Substance Abuse to name a few.

NCS provides comprehensive cognitive, learning and  social/emotional evaluations for students who may have undiagnosed learning or emotional disabilities. We provide diagnostic testing to assist in school and educational planning.

Group Counseling focus' on an individuals needs by using peers as a means of support. Group dynamics provide the client with the invaluable ability to see their problems in a different perspective, recognizing they are not alone in their challenges. Parenting support groups, social skills groups for children on the autism spectrum and teen support groups are available. Our topics vary so inquire or look for postings on upcoming therapy groups.

For many high school students, the prospect of going to college can be a daunting and anxiety provoking journey. Parents and students are faced with a myriad of questions relating to SAT's, grades, recommendations, course selection, early decision, GPA's, appropriate colleges etc.  

 Melanie received her Bachelor of Arts from Saint Anselm College and a Masters Degree in Education in School Counseling From Boston College.

Melanie has 12 years of experience in school counseling and has supported hundreds of students through the college admission process. Melanie has enjoyed empowering High School students to navigate the admissions process and reflect on how the “right fit” works into their future career plans, goals and aspirations. She feels the counseling sessions are absolutely vital to support the students in making an informed decision about their right fit.  “As a guidance counselor, I truly enjoyed working with each student on the development of their college lists and completion of the application process. I only wish I had more time , more hours, to devote to each student’s journey.”

Melanie is an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association.  She enjoys expanding her knowledge in this area through continued education, recently completing the Training Institute for the IECA on Practice and Principles of Educational Consulting, industry workshops, as well as a course on advising the college bound athlete.
 

 NCS offers Tele-Health Therapy  Visits for our patients.  Teletherapy services allows provider and patient to connect via video conferencing.  The one to one encounter allows patients the convenience of therapy without the necessity of travel.  All of our clinicians offer this option.  

 NCS has relationships with several  educators who provide  tutoring support services in Math, Science. Services can be delivered either on site or in the comforts of home.
